My name is Rey Byrne and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MO License #2021043650). I completed my Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology at John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, California in 2017. I also have a Masters of Arts in Women and Gender Studies. I have been trained in somatics techniques, mindfulness, trauma-informed care, secondary trauma, expressive arts, gender expansiveness, anti-racism, and intersectionality. I also have experience working within school systems to support neurodivergent children.
Before I became a therapist, I was a client. I came to the field of therapy because I know from experience that sometimes it is difficult to find someone who is a good fit, and when you do find that person, it can be life changing. Whether or not I am that person for you or your loved one, I hope to aid in the journey to find the support you need. I hold a radical mental health lens, which deconstructs pathology, sees mental health struggles through a lens of oppression and neurodiversity, and seeks to center the voices and experiences of those who struggle in a neurotypical world.
I am a white Jewish person raised in an interfaith family, born and raised in St. Louis. I am trans, non-binary, and queer. I strive to challenge white supremacy, capitalism, ableism, and heteropatriarchy and work towards building a world where we all can safely be ourselves, together.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my cats, baking, drawing, and exploring the woods and waterways of the St. Louis area.
Please note that I am currently not accepting new therapy clients. If you’d like to be put on my wait list, please contact me at email@example.com. If you are LGBTQIA+ and need therapy sooner, please send me an e-mail with a little bit about you and I will do my best to provide referrals to other queer and trans competent providers. I am still available to provide assessments for gender-affirming healthcare letters with a 1-2 week wait time.
I provide therapy in Missouri. Due to the the COVID-19 pandemic, I currently only see clients virtually via video and/or phone. I will update my site when I resume in person services.
My fees are sliding scale based on need, and decided together prior to beginning services.
My lower fee slots are currently unavailable.
$100-150 per 50-minute session
$100-150 per 50-minute individual session
$125-175 per 1-hour filial session
Free 30-minute caregiver check-in per month, $60 per additional 30 minutes per month
I currently do not accept insurance. If you have out of network benefits, I am happy to provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance company.
